As a craft stained glass is over a thousand years old and because of its visual effect and permanence it has often been used to bring colour and artistry into properties of both grand and domestic heritage. I work with care and attention to ensure that commissions I produce are discussed and designed together with the client and with sensitivity to the location. One of the greatest compliments I have received many times is "I can't remember what it looked like before the glass went in". I always try to ensure that there is a balance and a flow to my work, careful use of the right colours and textures and using lead lines to structure the design.

It can often be the let down of a beautiful renovation project that the attempt to match existing repairs or new panels of stained glass is very obvious. I endeavour to create heritage glass that is so flawlessly in balance with the existing building, and perhaps other glass, that once it is installed it appears “as though it has always been there”. Often this may require hunting out glass, either new matched or reclaimed original, that sits comfortably with other features. In some cases it may also require kiln fired silver staining and painting of the glass to match existing designs. With skills in all these areas of traditional glasswork I can ensure a beautiful and appropriate piece of stained glass.
